Conference Time

So Family,

It's that time again. Everyone is invited to come Sunday to watch one or both sessions of Conference. Hurray! I love this time of year.

We will be having a soup and bread bar between sessions. Anyone who is interested can bring either a crock pot of your favorite soup, or your favorite kind of bread! (But only if you want to bring something, I still have trouble cooking down, if you know what I mean!) I am planning on making potato soup, some kind of chili and probably some kind of chicken soup.

There will be Bingo for anyone who would like to play Conference Bingo. I've collected quite a few different varieties of Conference Bingo cards. Come and see if I have one that you haven't played yet!

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait....

Love you tons,
Mom

P.S. I have to tell you guys, I'm simply bursting with the newest most wonderfulness news! Katie said I could tell......Robert and Katie just found out that they are having a little girl!!!! She is due August 14th. CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT....................life just keeps getting better!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!!

Another Thompson Baby!!! That is the best!! Boy or Girl? With all these nieces and nephews, I don't think the world can hold so much cuteness! I hope they have fun in Disneyland.

There are some members of the ward who went down to Florida for spring break and went to Disney world and the new Harry Potter theme park. They said it was awesome! They came back with chocolate frogs and every flavor beans and everything. I wanna go to Hogwarts!

So Nikia's baptism was yesterday, and it went really well. She showed up five minutes before the baptism started when we were all at freak out point, but it was so beautiful. She is really amazing! I sang Ave Maria and when I was done, to my surprise, she was crying. I think she was so happy she was getting baptized. I'll send pictures as soon as I print them out. We have another baptism on Tuesday, so I'll send those too. This girl is named Aubrey, and she is also awesome.

Anyway, things are going really well. We taught Jonathan the elder this past week, and in the middle of the lesson, I started explaining the importance of prophets without Sister Stevens help and he understood me! In fact, I was able to make a big contribution to the lesson. I didn't know I knew that much sign! talk about the gift of tongues! or fingers! It was awesome! I hope to be able to get even better! EXCITEMENT!!

St Patrick's day here was CRAZY!!!! and it lasted all week!! No kidding. I'm just happy I wasn't in Southie when it was all going on. Southie is full of Irish. Well, all of Boston is full of Irish, but southie especially. there were drunk guys on the T from morning to night. And not just drunk, but high, plastered, everything you could think of. most of them don't even know who St. Patrick was! I have several crazy drunk guy stories now. It was seriously insane.

Well, I love you all! I hope everything is going well with the wedding and with babies and plays and school and work and all. I love you and I miss you all!
yours forever,
Sister Dixon

Train museum

Belle didn't get to come to the museum, but she is cute and can now roll over so we thought she should get her picture on the blog.

We rode the front runner to Ogden. It was awesome. Our train enthusiasts were thrilled.

Hello all!

I hope you are all doing well on a hour less of sleep. God must bless his missionaries, because I haven't noticed a difference!

This coming week is going to be awesome! We have a baptism coming up. Her name is Nikia, and we've been teaching her for a while. She asked me to sing Ave Maria at the baptism. That will be interesting. A Catholic Christmas song at a Mormon baptism. I don't know if there is any sort of unspoken rule forbidding that. I don't know. I'm sure if Praise to the Man was being sung at a catholic baptism, no one would mind. Well maybe a few people. Anyway, things are going really well here. we are working hard and God is blessing us.
...so I'm sitting in the Library, and a police man just ran by me and arrested this lady. There was the reading of rights and handcuffing and everything. I don't know what just happened, but whatever it was, it was pretty cool.

My memory card just ran out of room for my camera, so I'm going to put all my pictures on a CD and possibly mail it home.

Sorry I don't have more exciting things to report.

Oh! some drunk guy on the train threatened to break my face if I didn't give him my seat. that was exciting. but other than that, nothing really.

I was actually thinking (for all of you who read Terry Pratchett) that Boston is just like Anhk-Morpork. the people here are super cynical, and always enjoy a show. There are street performers everywhere, and if there is a fight (which happens on Saturday nights when all the drunk Irish come out) everyone gathers around to watch and cheer and take bets.
I love it.

I hope everything is well with you and that you all get through this next week, it sounds like it'll be busy. Good luck! I love you and pray for you!

Sarah's March 7th email

Dear Family,

I just wanted to thank everyone for sending Sarah mail and all the support you give to her. Dad and I feel we really do have the best family in the whole world. We love you all so much. You are always in our prayers. We are so blessed!
Mom

Hey all!

It has been so warm this week! It's rained a lot, and they say there will be one more big snowstorm before winter ends, but that it's all nearly over. you can actually see grass now!

So the work here is going really well. we have an investigator who is really close to baptism, and we are planning it for next week. The only problem is that the guy she wants to baptize her will be gone for that date. we'll figure it out though.

So, I was so silly to think that everything would be the same this transfer. I was kind of happy to finally have a transfer where everything stayed the same, but one week after transfers, President calls us up and asks us if we would move around singles wards again! Now we are in University (18-25) and Charles River ward (30 and up) I have now officially been in all the places open for sister except for one. I have had a change every single transfer of my mission. Can't wait to see what happens next transfer. It keeps things interesting, and keeps me on my toes.

I didn't get a package yet, but thank you for sending one! I luff getting mail! the sisters I live with are always so frustrated because I get the most mail. I tell them to write their parents and tell them to make them ten siblings. I'm sure the package will come today when I get home. Thank you so much!

I would also like to write a special thank you to Renee. I know you reads these letters. Thank you Renee for writing me every week faithfully! You have a letter on the way, I promise. I got your package! You are so great! Sister Stevens and I had a gummy bear fight. Thank you soooooo much!

I love being a missionary. Nothing puts your life into perspective like serving God. It's the best! Massachusetts is a fantastic place! There are so many different kind of people here from all walks of life. I am privileged to be a part of it. I love you!

Sarah's February 28th Email

FAMILY!!!!!

Sounds like things are good and busy with you all. That is awesome! It snowed about six inches yesterday, and right now it's raining really hard. Nothing much has happened since Wednesday. I've been kind of sick, but nothing bad. we had a few lessons.

Oh yeah and I shook and apostles hand.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson came to tour our mission. IT. WAS. AMAZING! I have rarely felt the spirit as strong as I did when he talked to us. He opened up for a question and answer session and we were kind of all stunned. What do you ask a apostle? I could probably figure something out if I had time to study, but I just kind of sat there with my mouth open. It was awesome though. I was pretty much spiritually pumped after that. This transfer is going to be awesome.

I don't have much time for this e-mail because we have to get something for Sister Stevens, and I'm really sorry I can't stay longer. I got a lot of e-mails this week. To those who don't get answers, I'll get to you next week! sorry! I love you!

Next e-mail I'll send pictures. I've taken some good ones of Boston that I'll send.
My shoe size is 9. Thank you!
I love you and miss you!
