Hi all, sorry I haven't posted this until today.
Owen's blessing will be held on the 1st of June at our church. The church is on the corner of 2700 W. and 7530 S. Our Sacrement meeting is at 9:00 AM. After sacrement meeting we will be holding a Lunch at Faunice's parents' clubhouse. the clubhouse is on the corner of Gold Medal Dr. and Green Springs Ln. the link below points to a google map that will give you directions. (Note: since Green springs Ln. is privately owned, it does not show up on the map. The 'pin' is roughly in the right spot for the clubhouse.)
Link to the google map.
For the Lunch, we are having Tacos. Faunice is keeping track of who is bringing what peripherals for the lunch, so if you want to bring somthing, you need to get a hold of her. Our phone number is 566-7762.
I'd like to thank everyone in advance for coming, and invite all melchezedic priesthood holders to join in the circle for the blessing.

Missy's email from April 27th
e
Missy found this old cemetery in a remote part of South Carolina.Hey!
I hope everyone had a good memorial day! The libraries were closed so I am emailing today. I had a pretty good memorial day. I took a nice long nap. It felt pretty good.
This week has been good. I can't believe May is almost over with. Time goes by pretty fast. It is getting hotter and hotter too. I am not really looking forward to August, which is the hottest month out here.
We have a baptism tomorrow. A cute kid that has been coming to church forever and decided that he wanted to get baptized. I love the stress-free baptisms!
I have a favor to ask. Can you send me a copy of The Touch of the Master's Hand? There is a part-member family we are working with right now and the member thinks that her nonmember husband would really like to see it.
Well, I hope ya'll have a faboulous week!

Me (Missy) , Santana, and her nephew. She got baptized in the Tabor City branch. Cute little boy! She loves the missionaries.
Hey! I know that name from somewhere!Hey howdy hey!
Well, this past week was pretty good. I had a happy birthday thanks to the wonderful things you sent me! My companion was sick for a couple days and so I actually spent my birthday inside the whole day. It was kinda boring, but I made the cake you sent and blew out the candles and everything. It was pretty fun. I will have to send you a picture to show y'all that bonfire on top of that cake!
Sunday was the Tabor city branch Branch Conference. The Tabor City branch has pretty good attendance anyways but there were especially a lot of people there. I think it was because they served food afterwards. They had a lot a yummy food. Southern cooking is tasty! They tried to give all the leftovers to the missionaries, but that would've been enough food to feed the branch all over again. So we slipped away before they could get it all together.
We have found some good people to teach this past week and we have kept pretty busy (other then the days that my companion was sick). On Saturday Marion had their annual Foxtrot Festival. We decided to walk through it to find people to talk to, it was pretty interesting. The way everyone explained it it sounded like it was just going to be a bunch of booths with people selling food and stuff, but it was pretty crazy. There were amusement park rides and it almost looked like a mini lagoon crammed into a tiny main street (they did it right on the Main Street). We didn't stay very long because it was chaos. The whole rest of the day we couldn't find anyone home because they were all at the Foxtrot Festival. People came all the way from Myrtle Beach to go. It was pretty crazy.
Anyway, this week the members say it is going to be hot, but thats ok. I have my sweat rag all ready to go!
I love y'all!

Online Photo Album
I've noticed that we've been posting a lot of picutures and videos to the blog, and thought it would be nice to have a private online photo album where we can all post family pictures. I've created a family album at Photobucket.com that everyone can post pictures.
The link to the album is here: http://www.photobucket.com/DixonFamily
It requires a password to get into. the password is the first letter in each of the words "We're Great, But No One Knows It." (all in caps) followed by the number 13.
The album is empty right now, but I will start putting in pictures tonight. Hope to see pictures from everyone else as well!

Millie's Fourth Birthday
Last week Millie said goodbye to three and hello to four! She is very excited to have made it to the big "two squared." The birthday princess' favorite colors are pink and purple, and her favorite food is pizza. Her (imaginary) friends include Jill, Shaylie and Sunny, all of whom lead incredibly interesting lives. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up she says Rapunzel. Here is a photo of her on her birthday morning with one of her favorite presents - her prize scooter!

We had a little party at Opa and Oma's house on Sunday. Here is Opa lighting the candles! Happy Birthday Millie!

Movie Reviews
Now that the summer blockbusters are just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to open a forum for movie reviews. Be honest -- if it was crappy, tell us about it.
Please don't limit reviews to new releases. Any and all movie reviews are welcome.
I'll start with Horton Hears a Who.
I'd give Horton three out of four stars. It was a bit tedious toward the end, but maybe that was because I was standing in the back for the last half with a fussy baby and a four-year-old who would rather visit the drinking fountain (and thus the bathroom). Anyway, it was colorful and funny, and the plot stayed pretty close to Dr. Seuss' short story.
I'd see it again, but probably won't buy the DVD.
Okay, your turn.

Missy's Email from May 12th
Hey Ya'll!
It was so great to talk with everyone yesterday! I am sorry that I didn't have more time to talk. A hour goes by pretty fast. Anyways, I don't remember what I said about this week, but this past week was pretty busy. We had two baptisms, one in the Marion branch and one in the Tabor City branch. We were running around like chickens with our heads cut off. The lady who got baptized in Marion has been taught by missionaries on and off for 2+ years. She is pretty crazy. I love her to death. My comp doesn't like her because she is weird, but I think Diane is so much fun! Then in Tabor City a young girl named Santana got baptized. She is very shy and cute and loves the church. It has been a very busy week.
Um.... I don't know what else to say that I didn't already say. My birthday is friday. I am excited for that. I am going to make sure that it will be a good one. Happy Birthday to all who have birthdays in the next couple weeks. I know that there are a lot. Hope ya'll have a good one.
I am going to be mailing some pictures today. I would email them, but I am not computer smart and I can't figure it out. Sorry.
I love ya'll!

Summer Picnic
I have talked to Grandpa Dixon and Helen and they commented that they haven't seen the newer models of the Dixon family. That would be Tommy, Xander and Owen. So we were wondering if we could all get together for a picnic. How would Saturday May 31st sound. Helen says that there is a very nice park in Orem that should work for a lunch time picnic. How does this sound to you. If this will work out for your family, let me know and I'll start making arrangements. It sounds like a great way to start the summer off!

HELP! I need music jokes!
So I'm having a fun recital on May 16th and have decided to have each student tell a music joke before they play their song. I only can remember a few, and I have 16 students, so please contribute. (dumb is good)
Here's what I have:
What's the difference between a violin and a trampoline? You take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline!
How do you get two violins to play in tune? Shoot one of them! (I don't think I'll use that one though. Sometimes the truth is a bit....harsh.)
Please, please help!
Contributors will get leftover refreshment cookies. :)

Cinco de Mayo from Missy
Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
Not that I am going to do anything special or anything, I just like Mexican food.
Anyways, this week was pretty good. It is starting to get way hot and because of it I am getting a very nice tan (and with it a bad farmer's tan). Is it hot over there in good ole Utah?
I love being in Marion and among all the country folks. This past week we had a member go out with us and afterwards she wanted to take us out to lunch. There aren't a whole lot of places to go around here so me and my companion asked if we could go to the one Mexican restaurant in town. After we got there it became apparent that she had never eaten Mexican food before. She tried to order a steak and fries. It was pretty funny. She liked what she got anyways (except for the salsa, it kinda blew her away).
The work is going good. We have a baptism coming up this weekend in Tabor City. Her name is Santana and she is the sweetest girl ever. Very shy though, she has opened up a lot since I got here. Speaking of this weekend, I am way excited to talk to everyone on mother's day! I am going to call home at 5:00 pm Utah time. Be there or be square.
I love ya'll!

A Couple of Posts from the Thompsons
We thought we would try to post a couple of videos to see how it worked. (This high tech stuff can be pretty hard for a finance hack to wrap his mind around!)
The first one shows Christopher's world debut on the cello. He had his first recital a little while ago and we are very proud of him! You may be able to notice he's working on elbow position. :)
This other one is Robert at the iFly in Ogden. It needs no other introduction. Enjoy!

My Fair Lady
Hey everybody! I got pictures from my play! It's a ton of fun. Here is one of me making a funny face. The dress didn't quite fit yet, so I look a bit like a marshmallow, but it looks okay.
Thanks for all your support. I've had more compliments than I can handle! It's making my head swell to the size of jupiter. I have my own moons in orbit and everything.
I'm sad it'll all be over in a month.

Congradulations Tom

My brilliant, handsome husband Tom finished with school today and has accepted a job with Applied Signal Technology. Xander and I are very proud(in a humble way) of Tom and all of the hard work he has put into everything he does. He has balanced school, work, home, and church callings, and has done well in all of them. He has even stayed sane. Congradulations Tom.
Owen is HOME!!!
Just a short post to let everyone know that Owen is now home. The chest X-rays show that his lungs are now clear and all of his vitals have been very good. There was a small dark spot that had the radiologist concerned, but when the Pediatrition got a chance to review them with him, they decided there was nothing to worry about. They phoned us up at about 1:00 p.m. and asked us to come and get him. We got him out of there before they could find anything else wrong with him. He will need to continue with his antibiotic treatments, but that can be done here at home.
Faunice and I would like to convey our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been praying for him and us. We feel certain that your prayers have made a big difference.
