Sarah's MTC July 21st letter
Dear Family,
After reading Sarah's letter, it made me want to go to the airport. I will resist and not go, but I was surprised at how tempted I am! We are so homesick for her. But anyone who will dust door frames and still have a happy heart will be a great missionary!
I love you all,
Mom
Mumy!

I miss you so much. I got my first hard core dose of homesickness this week. If it's always going to be like that, I don't know how I'll survive. I hope you got my letter. Last week was a horrible event and I had only a small amount of time to do my e-mailing. This week is better.
I see Lisa and Liza and Abby all over the place! I always give them a big hug. They have such pretty smiles. It's nice to see family before I go. Speaking of which...
I GOT MY FLIGHT PLANS!!!!! I'm leaving on the 28th, and my plane departs at 10. I'll get to Boston at 4:42 in the afternoon. It's a straight flight, no layovers. The flight number is 1210, just in case you want to follow me and make sure I arrive in safety. But that's not the BIG news...Here is the BIG news...I GET TO CALL YOU!!!!! When I'm at the airport I can give you a call for like 40 minutes. I think they let you do that so that family doesn't show up at the airport. It'll be sometime between 6 and 10, so be ready. I'll call our home phone. it's still the same, isn't it? Anyway, If you don't get a letter from me next week, that's why.
Everything here at the MTC is great. They just changed the dress code so that sisters can wear colorful skirts that are knee length, and cuter shoes. If only they had told me sooner!!!! I feel so drab wherever I go. Oh well. My clothes will still be going while theirs are all falling apart BWAHAHAHAHA!!
Every Friday morning they have out zone do a service project. Last time, Sister Stevens and I came late, so they had us dust door frames.
Dust Doorframes?
I thought it was odd, but we shrugged and started doing it anyway. At one point, two janitors werer walking by and I heard them laughing at us. I turned and they tried to hide it, but I knew why they were laughing.
"Dusting door frames isn't a real job, is it?" said I.
"No. Hahahahahahah!" said they, rather rudely.
However, the MTC now has the cleanest door frames in the world!!
So, every Sunday and Tuesday night, there are devotionals. and there are musical numbers at each one. and our Branch Presidents wife asked me to audition. I don't know why, she's heard me sing once and it wasn't very good. But tomorrow I audition anyway. I'm singing O My Father to the tune of Come Thou Fount. It's pretty. I hope I don't botch it. I miss being able to sing whatever, but it's amazing how many people just burst into hymns here. It's like a constant singsong!!! I love it.
I have the most amazing teacher here. Her name is Sister Adkins, and she is a ball of attitude! But she is so much fun and I love her! You can here her talking all the way down the hall.
There is an Elder here, whose Family lives in Clinton. He graduated from Clearfield and we know some of the same people. His name is Maxfield, do you know them?
Anyway, I think that's all the time I have, but I want you to know that I love you and miss you so much!!! Tell everyone I miss them, and you had better send me pictures of your vacation. I hope my pictures have developed in time for me to send them to you today, so you can hope for those.
Luvs!
Sistah Dixon
PS: I took care of the cell phone. The bill should be coming, just pay for it out of my account. The Lady on the phone asked me why I was canceling, and I told her it was because I was going on a LDS Mission. she said "Oh, I hate it when they make you kids do that" and I told her "Oh no! it's all voluntary!" I don't think she believed me. I'm pretty sure she hated me after I tried to give the first discussion to her over the phone. Hmmmm. Maybe I planted a seed though. you never know.

Sarah's Off!
After a nice visit with Grandpa where he told us about our relatives in Massachusetts, and the obligatory visit to Golden Corral, Mom, Dad, Heather, Jim, Lilli, Emily and Adam dropped Sarah off at the MTC. Lots of missionaries were at The Golden Corral.
Family members are not allowed to go in anymore...they had multiple stations at the MTC curb manned by Elders. You get directed to a station, the Elders grab the luggage, and off your missionary goes.
So we said our goodbye's in the parking lot across the street before we drove in.
Afterwards, we visited the bookstore where Mom got some famous fudge. Key Lime, Heath, and one other flavor that I forget right now.
We miss Sarah Already! Good Luck Sister Dixon!
