Sarah's April 25th Email

I can't wait for mothers day!!!!! May 8th! Yay!

Everything here is bursting with new life! This morning a bee chased me away from picking a flower otherwise I would tell you how pretty the flowers smell :)

Attached is a picture of Roxanne being baptized. It was raining that day, just to let you know, I don't normally go out with my hair looking like that. Anyway, it was an awesome baptism! we have another one coming up on Friday! God has really been blessing us! I know your prayers have a lot to do with it. Thank you so much! The gospel is coming forth and there is none that can stop it!!!!

Thank you all for your Easter packages! We hid Easter eggs for our roommates to find. We filled them with all good things! Chocolate and jellybeans and all other goodies. We hid one in their lamp and it melted from the heat of the light bulb because they couldn't find it and they turned the lamp on. That was the end of the Easter fun. But we are very 'hoppy', so thank you!

Emily, I barely recognized you in the picture dad sent! You are so old!!!! How dare you not be my cute little sister anymore? Just kidding, now you're my gorgeous little sister. VA VA VOOM! great hair! And your date is so cute! awwwwwwww!

Yesterday, church was all centered around getting married. again. the pitfalls of working in singles wards. I think I've had more dating advice on my mission than at any other time. Actually our sacrament meetings were very musical, and I really enjoyed it. I love Easter!
What a great reminder that Christ is and not was! I am so grateful to know that Christ lives and that we can also have eternal life!!! Because of Christ we can have our scars forgotten and our wounds healed and out bodies perfected (can't wait for that one!). Such a amazing thing!

Next Monday I will let you know the details for calling. Sundays are super busy for us and I don't see enough time to call anytime Sunday, but I'll make room if I have to, and there is also a possibility of doing 'skype', but I don't know how likely that is. I'll let you know when I do.

I love you all! Thank you for all your prayers and support! I miss you! Hope your week goes well!
Love,
Sister Dixon

Mother's Day is coming................... can't wait, can't wait can't wait!

Hey Everyone,
Erin and I wanted to let everyone know that she is getting her endowment on May 28th at 6 PM. That is next Thursday. Anyone who wants to can come and you will have to be there in the chapel at 5:30.
We also wanted to make sure you knew that there was no pressure to come. There won't be anything afterwards, just the session and then we're done. We would love to have you. If you can't, thats just fine too. :)

Sarah's April 19th Email

Dear Family,
After reading this letter this morning, I couldn't help laughing! I've become so homesick for Sarah. This is so Sarah! It sounds like she is busy but doing well! I miss Sarah, don't you?
Mom

Thank you so much for the Easter Package!!! It was awesome! It made me so happy!

It's been wet here too, in fact it is raining right now. Oh boy!

So here is the reason I am e-mailing on Tuesday (with permission):
Yesterday morning my alarm rings at 3:00 am and I get up, shower, get dressed, make muffins climb into a car with Sister Stevens, and we go to Lexington.

In Lexington, we wait for two and a half hours to watch the battle of Lexington with a group of missionaries. In a giant crowd, looking a very small field. Then, in a ten minute rush of excitement, pretend British soldiers march onto the field and shoot all of the pretend American soldiers. then they march off. Then we get back into the car and go to the Temple, which was awesome, then we get back into the car and drive home.

At home, we quickly eat breakfast, clean out apartment, and continue making other arrangements for our p-day. Then we get back into the car, drive to the church, park the car, get on the T, ride down to Copley, shove our way through the crowd, cheer on the Boston Marathon runners for a total of ten minutes, get shoved to the back of the crowd, give up, go to Al Capone's sandwich shop with a group of missionaries (I nearly fall asleep in my sandwich) and then we get back on the T, Get shoved around a bit more, get to Kendall, get off, get back on, go back to Copley, find some missionaries who were lost, bring them back to Kendall, get into a car, have a deep discussion about why we went on our missions, drive home, get out of the car, go inside and rush to get ready, walk to the Alewife T station, ride back down to Kendall, go to the church building, have an amazing lesson, get back on the T, ride to Alewife T stop, have a spiritual prompting to ride back to Harvard, ride back to Harvard, nothing happens. Ride back. Get off the T, Get another spiritual prompting to ride to Central, Get back on the T, contact this amazing Hispanic guy who took lessons a while ago and didn't know where to find missionaries, but had been praying for them. Write down his number, ride back to Alewife, walk home, clean the apartment some more, collapse in bed.

Sooo, that is why I wasn't able to e-mail yesterday, but as you can see, it was a cool day. so I hope you'll forgive me.

Things here are great. Zone conference is tomorrow, and Elder Zwick of the 70 is coming. I'm excited! there are going to be inspecting apartments, and mine has been chosen because it was the cleanest. You'd think they'd choose someone else, so there would be something to inspect.

Whatev.

Anyway, I love you all! Hope everything goes well for you! I miss you soooo much!
Sister Dixon,

PS, Baptism coming up on Saturday, her name is Roxanne, and she is awesome!

Sarah's April 11th email

My darling family,

God is amazing! The work is booming and wonderful things are happening. I have a new roommate, Sister Thomas who is awesome. She is really sweet and SUPER Buff! She's going to let me work out with her. I don't think I'll be able to keep up! I have to take her while I can though, because this is her last transfer.

This week we are excited because we may hit 70! WOW! There were green little buds and tiny purple flowers popping out of the cold ground this morning! The world is becoming lovely!

It's been a dramatic week, but things are settling down. And we look forward to seeing a lot of success this transfer. Heavenly Father has been very good to us. I think this might be my last transfer in the city, so I want to make it a really good one. I know you are all praying for me! Thank you so much. I am so blessed!

One of the great and expensive things about Boston is that there aren't that many chain stores. Most of the shops here are small businesses. And they thrive! There are a million unique little shops here. One members goal is to never take missionaries to a chain restaurant. So we eat at the most interesting places. And it's really good! There was one place we went to called The Friendly Toast. It was like a 50's drug induced nightmare. It. Was. Brilliant. It was the most random place ever! I know you all would love it. I should have taken pictures.

Things here are great! I'm sorry I don't have more to write, but next time I will have a letter with a great dramatic story. Even if I have to make it up. I love you all and I miss you a lot.
Cheers!
Sister Dixon
PS, I still haven't found Heathers Book!

This made me laugh

Sarah's April 6th Email

Conference was fantastic!! It was so good for our investigators. One girl we are teaching, Caitlin, was just eating it up. She loved it so much. There was so much I needed to hear.

Transfers have come and gone, and Sister Stevens and I are staying the same. Although we aren't holding our breath that we will stay in the same wards. We are extra excited that we are staying together this transfer because this transfer includes mothers day when we get to call home again. I am uber excited for that.

So there is a pastry shop in the north end that everyone is always telling us we have to go to called Mikes Pastries. We are going today with our district. and its probably going to be fattening and expensive and awesome! I look forward to it.

Nothing much has happened this week. Our roommates have been having problems with each other, and so we have been dealing with a lot of drama, but one is getting transferred so hopefully things will be less emotionally straining.

Other than that, things are great. I went into a bookshop the day Heathers book came out AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT!!! I was so mad! I told them to get their act together and start ordering copies. Don't worry, I took off my tag while expressing this.

Just kidding.

Anyway, I hope all is well for all of you. It sounds like it is. I love you all!

Sarah's Pics

Hey guys! Mom couldn't post the pictures that Sarah sent, so I am giving it a shot.
Above is the creepy symbol she was talking about. I spent a few hours on the computer and found out that it is.................. a barcode. Well, sorta. Its a QR code. You take a picture with your camera phone and it gives you URLs and info and stuff. I can see why she thinks it's creepy though.

Announcement

Hey everyone,
So Erin and I have kind of an announcement to make. We're not sure how you all will take this, simply because of how much everyone has been looking forward to May 25th. We will still be having a reception then, but we decided that was simply too long to wait to be married. We have ELOPED!!!! Our good friends James and Emily Hulse acted as witnesses this evening when Erin's bishop was kind enough to perform the ceremony at her home ward building. Here are pictures right after the moment. I wish we could have invited you all, but it was kind of spur of the moment. Just as a note, this isn't Erin's real dress. This is a dress she got as a costume a few years ago, but it was lovely enough to work for this occasion. We are now in Boise for the weekend.

We love you all, and are still hoping to see you on May 25th :)
Love,
Jim and Erin Dixon

Sarah's March 28th Email

Dear Fam,

Baptism pictures! I hope the file is okay so you can see them all. Nikia and Aubrey. Aubrey didn't want a picture of herself in the jumpsuit. But they are both fantastic people! I love them both so much. Aubreys baptism went well, it was really small. like, only ten people there. she wanted to keep it on the downlow. I was sad that it didn't get more recognition, but it turned out okay.

Yesterday one of our senior couples came to our ward (Elder and Sister Excell) and they brought their granddaughter. I politely smiled and asked her where she was from. She responded:

"Oh, a little town in the Ogden area called West Point."

I think at that moment time stood still for a second. Then I was like: "NO WAY!! I'M FROM WEST POINT!!!!"

I think I said it a little loud, because people kind of looked over. I didn't care. Her name is Morgan. We talked about West Point jr High and I told her I could see it from my house. She said she went there and I was all:

"No way, my brother goes there."

And she was all: "What's his name"

And I was all: "Adam Dixon"

And she was all: " I know him!!!"

And I was all: "That's so cool!"

And she was all: "Yeah, he's a studmuffin!"

Just kidding. She told me that Adam was in her moms third grade class and that she'd sit in sometimes. Then she told me she also knew Emily from when she did Cinderella. I got a little confused because I thought she meant the Cinderella we all did and I was like:

"I did that one too" and then I remembered and corrected myself "Oh no, you mean her school play. We also did a community Cinderella."

That's when Sister Excell perked up. Then she told me that her sister was in the sunset community Cinderella and as it turns out, Her sister was the fairy godmother. Anyway, sorry to relate that to you verbatim, but I got really excited. I told Morgan to give Adam a really big hug when she saw him, I don't know if she will, but know, Adam, that I really want to hug you via Morgan.

Anyway, that's basically all the excitement I have to share with you all. Sister Stevens has been sick this week, but that's about all.

I have decided last minute to send a picture of this symbol that has been haunting me. Every time I get on the T or a bus, this sign is everywhere! I don't know if it's a evil sign or what, but no explanation is given as to why it's there. here is also some wall art I found it on. If any of you know what it is, please tell me. It frightens me. seriously.
Anyway, I hope things are going well for you all! I love you! Thank you for all your support and prayers! It means a lot.
Sister Dixon

Dear Family,
Sarah sent 4 pictures, but I wasn't able to figure out how to put them on the blog. When you come for Conference I'll show them to you.
Thanks, Mom
