My Busy Birthday (So Far)
Today (May 30th 2009), was my birthday. Yesterday, I was laying in bed what felt like hours until I finally fell asleep. Then, I woke up, remembering I was ten today. And like usual at the Thompson house, when somebody has a birthday, they have breakfast in bed. But it was a Saturday, and some people love sleeping in, so I read my new dictionary (which is 1892 pages long). Then, Dad remembered the family tradition. And I finally got breakfast in bed.
After I ate breakfast, I opened my presents, which were the bedspread I liked in J C Penny, lime soda, pants, and new shoes. Then, when all our weekend jobs were finished, we went to see "Up". And it was amazing. Then we went to the pinewood derby ( see above). And very strangely, on the green track, I won first place. I got the award for the most original design. And we came home to give Josh a nap. This is were I am right now, typing this article. And I know that I'm going to decorate my cake, and for dinner were having a salad with tomatoes, carrots, and shrimp. And now, I have no idea what going on after dinner....

President Monson's ears
What does this video clip remind you of, and if President Monson can do it in church it must be OK for us to do it in church too, right?

Painting Oma and Opa's bedroom
Starting Friday night, we have been on a painting blitz. Oma and Opa have moved everything out of their bedroom, bathroom (including the toilet!) reading room and closet. All we have left is our mattress on the floor. Even the carpet is gone.
Last night, Heather came and this morning Mary came to help us. With Jim, Lilli, Emily and Adam, Julie and I have been having a paint-a-thon.
We just finished, and it looks great. Here is Heather showing off the accent wall.
The bedroom, bathroom , closet and reading room all have a brand new coat of paint (actually, more like two or three). The carpeting goes in on Wednesday, which will be great (we keep drawing blood on those horribly sharp tack strips). Unfortualtely, the furniture won't be delivered until Jun 11 so we will be 'mattress on the floor' until then.
Thanks so much to all for your help!

Rindercella
The Story of Rindercella Once upon a time, in a coreign fountry, there lived a very geautiful birl; her name was Rindercella. Now, Rindercella lived with her mugly other and her two sad bisters. And in this same coreign fountry, there was a very prandsom hince.
And this prandsom hince was going to have a bancy fall. And he'd invited people from riles amound, especially the pich reople. Rindercella's mugly other and her two sad blisters went out to buy some drancy fesses to wear to this bancy fall, but Rindercella could not go because all she had to wear were some old rirty dags. Finally, the night of the bancy fall arrived and Rindercella couldn't go. So she just cat down and scried. She was a kitten there a scrien, when all at once there appeared before her, her gairy fodmother. And she touched her with her wagic mand ... and there appeared before her, a cig boach and hix white sorces to take her to the bancy fall. But now she said to Rindercella, "Rindercella, you must be home before nidmight, or you'll purn into a tumpkin!"
When Rindercella arrived at the bancy fall, the prandsom hince met her at the door because he had been watching behind a widden hindow. And Rindercella and the prandsom hince nanced all dight...and they lell in fove. And finally, the mid clock strucknight. And Rindercella staced down the rairs, and just as she beached the rottom, she slopped her dripper!
The next day, the prandsom hince went all over the coreign fountry looking for the geautiful birl who had slopped her dripper. Finally he came to Rindercella's house. He tried it on Rendercella's mugly other ... and it fidn't dit. Then he tried it on her two sigly usters ... and it fidn't dit. Then he tried it on Rindercella ... the foe sh---... er.... uh..... It was exactly the sight rize!
So they were married and lived heverly ever hapwards. Now, the storal of the mory is this: If you ever go to a bancy fall and want to have a pransom hince loll in fove with you, don't forget to slop your dripper!

Shopping Spree
I'm not sure everybody heard, so I just want to make sure everyone knows that the shopping spree meeting place has been changed. We will meet at the Olive Garden in Layton at 1:00pm. I may be the only who doesn't know where it is, but the address is 675 N Ring Road. Mom wants to treat us to soup salad and breadsticks. I told her that sounded wrong, but she wants to. After we eat, we will treat Mom to a shopping spree.
I'm looking forward to it.

Funny Jokes
It's that time of year again: Spring Piano Recital.
I'm hoping y'all can help me with jokes again this year. Every student gets to tell a music joke before they introduce their song. It's oodles of fun, but I have a hard time coming up with 24 music jokes. So please share any music jokes you may have.
How fortunate I am, really, to have a family that's not only very musical, but also incredibly witty.

The Scotts blog
Hey Everyone.
We've started a blog: wegotrules@blogspot.com
At least, I think that's the address. I'm really pooter-stoopid, so I don't know how to make it a link that you just click on -- in fact, I'm hoping the pooter will just make it a link automatically. We'll see. Anyway, check out the blog if you want to see pictures of birds. And kids. And read funny stories. And get to know a side of us you will probably regret.
Patti's Baby
Patti had her baby on April 19th which just happens to be Becca's Birthday.
Jane Ella Deru is her sweet little name --

6 lbs 8 oz

It is neat that Jane Ella was born on April 19th, because that is Becca JANE'S birthday and her great-great grandmother Georgia ELLA'S birthday. Patti has had the name picked out for months, and she just happened to be born on both birthdays.

I've "borrowed" pictures from Patti's blog except for the last one of Patti and I which Mary took.
If you have a minute, take a peek at Patti's blog. She's got a bit of the baby blues, and there's nothing she likes more than virtual ogling over her baby.
