Sarah's July 25th Email
My darling Family and Friends...
Happy Pioneer day! I forgot that even exsisted! they don't celebrate it out here. I feel jipped. I take any opprotunity to party!
Things here are great, I have a baptism coming up on Saturday, so things are really good. The weather has been HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!! We were tracting in 107 degrees! it was no bueno! we went out and got ice cream, but that didn't do much either. One of the Boston Elders fainted of heat exhaustion. I'm glad I have a car!
I am so jealous you all get to go to Dizzyland! I hope for pictures! and letters....and maybe presents?? just kidding. I want pictures.
We went to see a less active this week. She was a tiny little old woman, who wanted to come back to church, she just needed an invitation, she was a sweetheart. Anyway, we went into her house and it was like Doctor Doolittle (The old one with Rex Harrison, not the lame new one)! She had 11 Dogs, 9 Cats, 4 Birds, 2 Horses, 3 Bunnies and who knows what else! I am totally serious! (The horses were not in the house) so anyway, at the end of our visit with her, she asked us if we could help her with anything.
Her: Actually, yes, what sweet little dearies you are!
Us: Awww, that's okay, what do you need help with?
Her: Oh, I have some heavy stuff out in the trailer that I need to bring inside, and then I'll give you cookies and milk!
Us: What a sweet old thing you are!
So we went out to her trailer and she pulles out a carrying case of some kind.
Us: What's in that?
Her: Oh, just a couple of my favorites...
She then proceeded to open the suitcase and pull out...
TWO ENORMOUS GUNS!!
Her: these are my .44 revolvers.
Us: O--O.
Her: And I have six boxes of bullets inside too, if you two would be a dear.
Apparently, this tiny 71year old lady was a champion marksman! I was so surprised. When I said something about the empty clips that were in the box, she coolly informed me that those were magazines and that clips were for pistols.
Apparently, I need to watch more crime drama. That's probly the most exciting thing that has happened...
I'm running out of time, but I love you all! Thank you for your prayers and love!

Hello Lovely family and friends!
Thank you for the pictures! Mimi is ADORABLE! I think I can safely say that Dixons make good lookin babies.
This week we have been working with a lot of less active members, and we have found a lot of success. One family, the Sanchez's don't speak much English. But they were more than happy to invite us in.
I used all the broken Spanish I know (I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints, My name is, Let's have a party with cheese, Your pants are on fire, Your mothers head is sad, etc) and they agreed that they wanted to come back to church! They are such a sweet family.
We also found some new investigators this week, so we are super excited! One couple we are teaching, Mike and Mary Kelly, are really excited about the church. And we are really excited that they are really excited........naturally.
As for my exact location, I live in a tiny town called Storrs, it's northeast of Hartford, and in the same town as the University of Connecticut. I live down the street from the campus. I hope you can find it, it's kind of tiny. Good luck!

Thank you all so much for your prayers on my behalf. I really do appreciate it, and I have seen so many blessings!
Sister Allen and I get along really well, she is a fireball! always going going going! It's been fun. It's made my time with her seem really really short. It's weird to think that the transfer is halfway through. We have got a lot done though, and we are excited to do more.
I love you all! I hope you have a great week!

Calling All Artists!
Hey Everyone. Our fridge broke. Sad but true. But our landlord, being the awesome landlordy person he is, dropped everything and got us a new one. Erin and I were thinking, it looks rather bare. We wanted to extend the invitation to all members of the family to paint, color, or draw any pictures of anything they want to in order to help decorate our new fridge. We look forward to showing off all the artistic abilities of the Dixon family :) YOU GUYS ROCK!

He ya all!
It sounds like the fourth was awesome for you! I missed the greatest firework display in America by four days. I'm still hearing things about it.
Harrumph.
Harrumph.
However, I was playing horseshoes with little children and watching the old school home fireworks from our bishops porch eating a brat. So there.
Not much is still happening here. Sister Allen and I go tracting a lot. We ran into this woman with a full beard! While we were talking to her, I had a hard time not starting. It was kind of hilarious. But we picked up a new investigator from tracting this week, so things are okay!
I don't have much to report. Sorry. The problems of being in a place where nothing happens. But I thank you all for your prayers and support! I hit my year mark last Thursday! that was strange. we went out for ice cream.

Sarah's July 5th Email
Dear Family,
Greetings from Connecticut!
My goodness it's so much different here than in Massachusetts! all the license plates are completely different! what a change!
My new area is great! Lots of trees and pretty houses and not a bus in sight. It's a bit of culture shock from being in the city. But I like it. There is a certain charm here. My new Companion is Sister Allen and she is really cool. she is very excited about everything, and she is VERY pretty. She looks just like Meg Ryan. Our apartment is SO Nice! It is beautiful! It's nicer than my apartment back home!
There isn't much to report this week, sadly. I'm still getting used to the new area and the new mission. I don't think the Connecticut missionaries were too happy about the combination, but most of them do a good job of hiding it.
I'm driving again. I haven't driven in eight months! Turns out, I remember how to do it! So that's good. My ward is full of great interesting people. Right after RS on Sunday, the lady next to me turns to me and says "Would you like a tattoo?"
Naturally, I said yes.
Turns out she does glitter arm paintings, so I have a giant glittery flower on my arm right now. don't worry, it's covered, but I think people can feel the awesomeness through my sleeve.
I think that's all I have. I love you all!
Hope this week is great for you!
Hope this week is great for you!
Luvs,
Sister Dixon
P.S. Hey! I love you.
Our Bishop has 10 kids and we went to their house for dinner.
I am so sorry for all the grief I caused you!
That's all.
I hope we weren't like their kids.
Luvs!

Baby Birds (and half digested worms)
So, as many of you know there is a birds nest in Mom's hanging plant. The babies are still gross looking things, but I'm sure they will be cute little fuzzballs soon.
See the worm?
