Gas prices rise

We had a very nice visit from the Thompsons and Tom, Kristy and family. Millie has lost a tooth, and gas was $200.00 a tank (Josh used, I think, eight tanks. Xander three).

I don't know if the nieces and nephews remember this, but a couple of weeks ago I had them draw pictures and write in cursive for a part in my book, a part where the princesses make a list of all the visitors to the Palace. Anyway, I put this mock-up in the story, and everyone who's seen it loves your stuff! Both the agent and his assistant thought it was awesome. So thanks you guys for helping me out! I totally owe ya!

Girl Party!

It's a babes 'n bows party! Join us for making hair bows on October 3rd during the Priesthood Session at 6 pm at Thompsons' house. Everyone is invited - sisters, sisters-in-law, moms and kids, although it will probably be frowned upon if you are a priesthood holder and show up.

We will have the clips and adhesives and also some flowers here, but if you want to make something special bring flowers, ribbon, brads, bowls of fruit, or anything that catches your fancy. I'll have a dessert here too, but if you want to bring treats as well it would be welcome. Hope to see you there!

Cute boys

More pictures from teh Labor Day picnic. Scott has taught me several times how to post more than four pictures at a time, but I forget. There are more cute pictures of kids -- I'll try not to leave anyone out. :)

Love the moustache, Josh.

Sister Rebecca Boekweg
http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/object2/626/46/n121611877534_5294.jpg

I want to invite anyone who'd like to come to my Farewell on Sunday, September 27th at the yellow church in Mt. Pleasant (300 S. State). Sacrament Meeting starts at 10:50 AM and my whole family will be speaking. You're all invited to have some yummy lunch at my house right after. If you can't make it for the farewell, you're still totally invited to come for the food, so hop on over! I'd love to see any of you, if you're around.

Elder Joseph Boekweg
Returns
Uncle Joseph ask me to let you know that Joseph returns from his mission in Pennsylvania, October 21st. (Which is Uncle Joseph's birthday). His homecoming talk will be October 25th at 10:50. It will be held at the church right across the street from Grandma's old house on Canyon Road in Provo. There will be a lunch afterward at the Boekweg home.

Pinewood Derby

In Katie and Robert's ward, the young sisters get to race too. Here is Mary's entry.

Brothers

I just love these pictures of my boys. Tommy is so enamored with Steven. "Zee-aah" is one of the few words he can say. So is "boot-baah" (football).

Notice the fistful of hair.

A Happy new addition

No, I'm not pregnant, but we would like to announce a new member of our family.

Meet Happy, our new dog. We adopted him yesterday from the Pet Samaritan Fund. He is a 2 year old chocolate lab mix. His previous family gave him up because they had a baby and no longer had time for him, but they must have been crazy, because so far Happy seems to be a perfect addition to a family. He is a little nervous about Owen, especially when he (Owen) is in a Mood, but he just moves out of the danger zone. He also makes it so I do much less sweeping and mopping around Owen's high chair.

Family tree

As most of you know, I am taking a German class this semester at the Salt Lake community college. It's a good class, I'm learning lots. This week, for an assignment, I had to make a family tree, complete with pictures. Hooray! Glue!
The only specifications for the project was that it had to include at least one of the following : mother, father, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandmother, and grandfather. I have plenty of each of these, so I figured it would be an easy project. I asked mom for a couple of family pictures, and got out my sissors.

I forgot to factor in the limited space. One piece of paper is simply not enough for our family. So I had to downsize. A lot. So now, according to my German teacher, this is my family:

Grandmother Helene (I apologize for this but the example said "Grandmother Helene" and before I knew it, I had written the same thing. I only had so many pictures.) Grandfather Thomas.
They have only three children, Julie, Joseph, and Gracie. This was a space issue.
And then Julie married to Glenn and their five children, Katie, Peter, Tom, Me, and Emily. This has nothing to do with favoritism, I promise, they were just the easiest ones to cut out.
I accidently slashed through my face, so I used Heather's picture for me instead. They were all black and white and I smudged it up really well, so no one should notice a thing. If they squint.
Then I put Katie married to Robert, and then just to be fancy, I gave them a child. Granted, the only grandkids picture I had was one of Steven, so it was the wrong child, but My teacher doesn't know that.
So there you are. The one page version of my family. I got all the important ones in. Hahahahahahaha ha ha ha ha...erm...just kidding...
The good news is, these were family pictures from forever ago, so you all look at least ten years younger!

FIrst Day of School

Our first week is over.
The kids like their friends and teachers and they come home tired and happy. We didn't get a picture of Steven because he had to leave for the bus an hour earlier than the girls. Now that Ellie is in Kindergarten, Tommy and I get some one-on-one time. It's pretty fun.
