THE REDCOATS ARE COMING!!!

So, yesterday I played hooky from work and went to Lexington and Concord where they had all kinds of reenactments and parades for Patriots Day. Unfortunately we arrived just after the reenactment ended, but we did get to see the retreat of the British.

They also had cannons that they shot off all morning.

And then of course the parade where there was an awful lot of fifes and drums.

The area was gorgeous and I'll probably go up again when there aren't as many people.

However, I think my favorite part was the cool old cemetery with gravestones of people who died 300 years ago. I didn't get to explore the whole cemetery (because the group I was with didn't think cemeteries were cool), so I'll have to go back to look for the coolest phrase and oldest grave.
