Dear Family,
I got transferred last week! After having 9 months in Pucallpa, I've
moved back to Iquitos, only this time, to an area that all the
missionaries talk about, which is called Nauta. A little bit about
Nauta is that it's about 2 hours out from Iquitos (nearly 100 KM),
making it one of the most secluded areas in the mission, like Campo
Verde, but nearly triple.
But why do all the missionaries talk about it? Because this place is
PARADISE! Nauta is a very peaceful and well-maintained city in the
middle of a bunch of jungle growth! Here, we have both the city, and
the most jungley area in the entire mission! The people here are
extremely humble too, and they'll easily accept us into their homes to
share the gospel with them! Nauta has a branch, but there are so many
members that there have been plans to build a ward!
My new companion is one of the best guys ever! His name is Elder
Maldonado, and he's from Argentina! He's got about six months in the
mission and he's super obedient! We live with another companionship,
but we don't live in an apartment. We live in a house! A huge house
with a washing machine, a kitchen, and a deck to the back where we can
watch the monkeys play around. This place is seriously one of the best
places I've seen in my life!
I'm very thankful to the Lord to be able to serve in this area! I know
that I'll be able to learn a lot and to also be able to make a
difference in the lives of the people here. These missionary
assignments are always inspired, and I'm ready to present the gospel
in these people's lives!
Love,
Adam
