Sarah's December 5th email

Hyello all!

So, great to hear that you have signed up to feed the Elders! This is what you want to feed them, ahem: A GIANT steak smothered in chipotle lime marinade, grilled to medium rare, mashed potatoes made with cream and butter, and corn on the cob (about 3 cobs each.) and then, after they are done with that, bounce up from the table cheerfully and say "Round two!!" and bring out the giant bowl of pasta (missionaries love pasta, ask anyone!) with meatballs and sausage and a long loaf of fresh garlic bread and possibly some sort of squash. and after they have finished with that, you can pull out the enormous chocolate chocolate brucie cake and Ice cream (probably about a quarter gallon for each) topped with carmel, sprinkles, nuts, and whipped cream. cherries on top might be going overboard, though, so don't do that. After this, offer them some after dinner rich creamy hot chocolate and cookies, and then roll them out the door. They will love you forever!!! Also, make sure you have some of the nieces and nephews over, so they can play tricks on them, and pull their ties. Missionaries also love that! We never mind committing the deadly sin of gluttony :).

This is a true story! :)

Or you can make them breakfast for dinner, that's always a favorite. It really really is!

So things have been going good this week, Sister Green is still sick, so it's been slow again, but yesterday and today we have had a international creche display at our church (creche=nativity. who knew?) and it has gone really well! One sister in the ward collects them and has over two hundred from around the world. We helped set up a little. There is one creche that is inside of a bird egg, probably only about a inch high. some of them are really amazing.
Sister green sang at a Christmas concert for the stake on Saturday and sounded beautiful, I got roped into turning pages for the pianist, which was a lot harder than normal because he'd make up his own stuff and I'd get lost, but in spite of that, I did a bang up job!

Anyway, there isn't a whole lot more to report.
I love you all! I miss you!
Sister Dixon

PS, Oh yeah, I got my flight plans. I'm flying on the 27th from Boston to Atlanta and from Atlanta to Salt Lake. I'll come in at about 4:30-ish. You know, I was really doing well about not thinking about home and getting all trunky, and then this threw me for a loop! I spent hours talking to Sister Green about it (she's going home at the same time) and we both felt really trunky. GAAAAAHHH!!!!
