My second General Conference in the field was amazing! There were so many awesome talks! It seemed like they really focused on families this time and how missionaries that get home gotta get married as soon as possible (okay! :D). I'm surprised at how many General Authorities spoke this time as well! Wow! General Conference was truly the best. Too bad I didn't have jelly beans this time. :P
Unfortunately, our two baptisms were postponed to next week because of the crazy conference schedule. And transfers are this week. If I get transferred to a different area and miss my 2nd and 3rd investigator baptisms just like my 1st...that wouldn't be the brightest time of my mish. But our investigators that are getting baptized are pretty cool. Kenyo is super docile, and it's kind of impossible to guess what he's thinking, but I think he's excited. He watched the entire Joseph Smith movie on YouTube, so that counts for something.
Pedro, our other investigator who's getting baptized, is super awesome right now. He's not even baptized and he's already giving us references, inviting his friends to church, and bible-bashing other people. I'm so proud of him. We asked him earlier what size his waist was and he looked at both of us and replied, "Dixon-sized".
I have been losing a significant amount of weight on the mission, and my waist size has dipped down a few numbers...at least, I think. Later that week, a drunk guy came up to us, looked at me, and slurred, "You're really biiiiiiiiiiiig." Okay. :P Perhaps I'm not losing as much weight as I thought, or maybe that guy was a little too woozy.
This week was fantastic for finding new people! We found a bunch of families that are interested in what we have to say. We even had a few people straight out tell us, "I'm very interested in what you have to say" after the first lesson. Down here, that kind of stuff is rare. I'm confident at what's coming up!
How is everyone over there? I hope everyone's in good health and that Katie's fundraiser is doing well! How's Dad doing in the Middle East? How are all my favorite nieces, nephews, and siblings?
I love you all! You guys are the coolest! Thanks for all your prayers!
Elder Dixon
P.S. Don't worry, Mom. I feel great down here!
