Sarah's October 3rd Email

Heya all!

WOW!! Wasn't conference awesome!?! I loved the very first talk about the scriptures. I loved when he called them friends. What a sweetheart! He obviously loves the Book of Mormon so much!

I've decided that I'm going to memorize a scripture a day until the end of my mission. This morning I memorized Alma 47:6-7 "Now you may think that this is foolishness in me, but behold I say unto you that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass, and small means, in many instances doth confound the wise, And the Lord God doth work by means to bring to pass his great and eternal purposes, and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls."

See? I did that without even looking! I though it was a fitting scripture, since memorizing a scripture a day is a small and simple thing.

Anyway, Emily, you are so stinkin' cute! Even if you didn't get royalty at school, you are royalty in my heart. awwwwww!

So things this week have been really good. I got your package, Mom. Thank you so much. I am currently looking styling because of you! The ward here is awesome, they have been taking good care of us. A little too good. They like their desserts here in New England.

The work is going well! We are working hard. Jacob and his wife, Mary will be baptized in November if they can quit smoking! Hooray!

Sister Allens birthday is this week, and I've been trying to get together some sort of surprise for her, but it SO HARD because she is always with me. I've already gotten into a couple tangles that I had to do some quick thinking to get out of. But I think I have it all together and she will have a good birthday.
