Sarah's May 23rd Email

Dear Family,

China is not in my good book right now. Liqi, our new investigator called us up on Tuesday night and said that she had read the whole Book of Mormon in one day and that she felt spiritually fed and that it is a amazing book and God spoke to her through it.

I always like to hear stuff like that from investigators.

Anyway, we go to meet with her and she opens the Book of Mormon and the whole thing is highlighted and color-coded and she has all these amazing thoughts on scriptures (and she's so businesslike about it!) and so Sister Stevens and I get really excited.

And then she drops it.

"Oh, Dixon, I am going China next Wednesday and be back in August."

This was a blow, but we persisted. We asked her if she could make it to Hong Kong, where missionaries there could take care of her. She says no. We ask if we can have Temple Square missionaries Skype with her. Turns out that's against the law. oops. So then we get desperate:
"Liqi, you can't attend Church in Beijing unless you are a member! we can teach you the lessons right now and get you baptized before you go! that way, you can attend church and learn more there. You already know that the church is true!"

"Yes Dixon. but I think I will go to China and stay to August and read Book of Mormon several more times so I understand better and then come back and be baptized. that is my decide."

STUPID CHINA!!!

No offense to those who like china...actually, all the offense in the world meant! China stinks!
so anyway, it's raining right now, which reflects my mood.

Here, I'll try to be happier:
So all around Boston (apparently all around the world, so you probably have seen it), signs predicting Judgement day for the 21st of May. Obviously it didn't happen. the 21st was like the prettiest day so far. Although around the end of the day, it started to get foggy. haha. God has a sense of humor. Apparently, they have predicted 4 different judgement days in the past year. interesting. and they are still doing it. I just want to point out to them the scripture that says "No man shall know the day..." and all that jazz. funny.

I'm excited to see how the wedding goes. Jim and Erin have all my best wishes! I hope everything is fab! where are you going for your honeymoon. You probably already told me, but I forgot.

I hope you are all well, sorry that this letter was angry. She was so golden! and it's still fresh. oh well.
Love you all!
Sister Dixon
