Just thought I'd share....

So, due to some requests I thought I would share my senior collection that I just finished designing. The senior collection is kinda a big deal because we have to take four of the looks (or more if we want) and make them and show them in the Portland Fashion Show.

Believe it or not, these have taken up a lot of my time this term and will take up most of my time until I graduate. I will most likely get sick of them. But, I thought I should share some of what I'm doing up here in tree-hugging Portland and show that I'm learning more than just sewing.

(by the way, the blank squares on the right is where I put my fabric swatches after I printed it all out)

Luvs to all!

Introducing...

Geoffrey James Dixon!  The newest member of the Dixon clan!  He arrived October 3rd, at 11:46 am, weighing in at 8 lbs 5 oz.  He measured 20.5 inches.

As for the bets a while back, we went through and marked who the closest guesses were in each category.  Kristy wins having the closest in two categories (gender and time of birth).  Congrats Kristy, you win eternal satisfaction. (honorable mention to Mary, who guessed his height exactly! You win satisfaction, but it will end eventually.)

We will be posting more pictures of the little dude and his many adventures on our own blog, if you guys want to check that out there.  Its private, so if you can't access it, let us know and we will send you an invite.

Hi all,

Lots 'o' last-minute stuff for the funeral...

1.  We will be at the viewing Sunday night so will not be home.

2.  Grand/great grandchildren have been asked to sing "Each Life That touches Ours for Good" p. 293.  The plan is to have Jim and Debi play a viola duet then sing the first verso of this hymn.  Since it is not a familiar hymn to children, please practice with them.  Here is an email from Aunt Debi, who is coordinating this:

Grandpa Dixon thought "Each Life That Touches Ours for Good" (293) had "good words for a funeral."  The author of the text, Karen Lynn Davidson, reminds us, "Most of the richest blessings of life come to us through other people."  We are all certainly feeling that as we remember Grandpa Dixon!
Grandchildren, their spouses, and even great-grandchildren are invited to sing the first verse of "Each Life That Touches Ours for Good" as part of the closing hymn at his funeral.
This is what it will happen:
When it's time, we will gather at the front of the chapel.  Jim and Debi will play a viola duet introduction.  Then you and yours will sing the first verse, adding piano accompaniment (Heather, would you be willing/able to play?).  Though It is only three lines long (and I know you're so smart you can have it memorized before I finish this email), you'll probably want to bring a hymn book with you for the other three verses.  For the second-fourth verses, let's add the congregation and organ (assuming it is in tune with the piano; Katie, would you be willing/able to play?).  To simplify, we will go straight through (no interludes).  Deanna, you won't need to lead the viola introduction.  It is your call on the first verse.  For the remaining verses, it would be great if you lead the congregation.  After, we'll all return quietly to our seats.

Glenn has proposed we practice at the beginning of the Monday viewing (10 a.m.).  If this is impossible for you, still join us, just practice at home.  Here is an lds.org link for all to enjoy:  https://www.lds.org/music/library/hymns/each-life-that-touches-ours-for-good?lang=eng

We appreciate you all!

Love, Oma and Opa

It was peaceful and he was surrounded by people who love him.

His funeral will be held Mon Sept 9, 11:00 AM
Viewing will be Sun night 6-8 PM at Berg Mortuary 3rd east and center street in Provo,
then Monday 10-10:45 at the church.
The chapel address is:
 2876 W 1390 N
in Provo.
There will be a luncheon held at the church house after the funeral.
Please RSVP at
THE DIXON SPOT
and leave a comment so we can get a count for their Relief Society.

Family, you just don't know how much Dad and I appreciate all your support and love at this time. And how much grandpa appreciated your visits.  He would often say to me after everyone left, " Am I related to all these little people? And they belong to us?  Gosh Ol' Hemlock!!  I would lay in bed at night with Dad and we would just giggle about that! We feel we have the most wonderful family in the world! We love you so very very much!
