Sarah's email November 22nd

Dad, I always love hearing from you! You are unsinkable!

It sounds like a ton of things are happening! Jim and Heather getting new jobs! That's awesome! Just in time to buy Christmas gifts and eggnog (I know how you all go through eggnog...) Sister Halverson is a eggnog fanatic. She has already devoured a half gallon, and it's not even Thanksgiving.

Speaking of which, we have had a ton of offers for Thanksgiving. We picked the first one we got. I wanted to line them all up and make a 30 min stop at each one of our ward members, and then compare notes on whose was the best turkey, but for some reason, my companions didn't like the idea. So we are going to spend Thanksgiving with Victoria's Family, the Hartman/Lynches. It will be so great.

It's getting cold, but no snow yet. I'm excited for it (except for having to drive in it all) My companions are sadly not.

Okay, I know My Mission Presidents wife asked everyone to send in a Christmas present, so may I thank you all in advance. I now have that anticipation that makes up half of Christmas.

I thank you all for your prayers! I will miss spending holidays with you. My ward is great though, and I have no doubt my Thanksgiving will be full of food.

I love you! Have a great Thanksgiving! Don't try to cook Jim, he only acts like a ham.

Sarah

Such mahvelous noose!

So you may have heard that I applied & had an interview with Disney Interactive (Avalanche) a month or two ago; but I hadn't heard much news so I was worried that I'd gotten the guillotine.

BUT!

Yesterday I got an email--I AM THEIR FINAL CONTESTANT!!!
I did a dance JUST LIKE THIS!

Bert stars in Mary Poppins.  Mary Poppins is a movie made by Disney.  I WILL BE WORKING FOR DISNEY!!!

AAAAAAAAAAH!!!

Thanks so much everyone for your prayers and fasting #^_^#  You're the BEST FAMILY EVER!!

Thanksgiving Day

Dear Family,

Dad and I are so excited for Thanksgiving this year. It seems we will have everyone here, except, of course, Sarah. The plan so far is to eat at 11:00 am. If this won't work for you let us know.

Some have asked what they can bring and so far Katie is bringing rolls and a couple of pies (apple and grasshopper), Mary is bringing Mashed potatoes, gravy and a sweet potato/apple casserole. Missy is bringing pies, and Heather is helping with the decorating.

Dad and I wanted to also get some input from you. That day TANGLED comes out in theaters. Would you guys like to all go and see that movie that afternoon. Think about it and let me know. Meanwhile I will find out times etc...

We love you and are so looking forward to seeing you on Thursday!

Sarah's November 15th Email

Heya fam!

That is one hot bike! If I didn't have a car, I would want a bike like that. As it is, I opt for a heated truck. They still haven't given us our car back from the crash. oh well. One good thing about the truck is I don't have to count miles.

Second order of business:
RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE HOT CHOCOLATE!!!???!?!?!
That sounds awesome. We were geeking out because we found Stephens hot chocolate. They only had milk chocolate and it was super expensive, but for Stephens it's worth it!

Wow...a man expo...that actually sounds pretty cool. That picture of Adam is impressive. Sister Phillips would probably enjoy beating up the car.

Things here have been slow. sadly. It seems like 'drop the missionaries' week. It's been stressful.

On a lighter note, I'm learning how to juggle. Not that I've been taking time out of my day or anything, but when I have a minute here or there, I'm trying to pick it up. It's hard!!!

The weather here has been oddly warm lately, although they say it won't last very long. soon it will be snowing!! I'm excited. My companions are not, however.

We already have our christmas tree up. We know one of us is getting moved next transfer and we all need a little Christmas together. It's never too early for Christmas right?

I love you all! I hope everything is going great! I miss you. thank you for your prayers.

The Man Expo

So Jim and Adam went to the Man Expo yesterday. As you see there was lots of testosterone racing through the building. Both Jim and Adam claim to have gain chest hair through the experience. I am so glad I didn't go!

Opa's New Bike

I've been saving for a new bike since summer because I've shrunk and my red bike is now too big for me (I'm giving it to Jim). Last week I had enough to buy one through the mail, and it arrived yesterday. I spent last night and a little time today putting it together, and have now taken it for a test ride.

Wow! What a nice bike! So many gears I could make a clock and still have plenty left over. And it is fast! So fast that I had trouble keeping up with it!

I was going to order a blue one, but Julie said the black looked cooler. What can I say?

Love you all!

Sarah's November 8th Email

Hey all!

I am sending pictures!!!! I put them in the mail today, so they should get to you soon.

I dyed my hair too.I don't have pictures of that. Sorry. I just barely did it.

So it has snowed here! It lasted about two seconds, but it was awesome. CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Phil had a little tree that we put up and decorated. and we played Christmas songs (from that hymn CD you sent me thank you!) and drank Hot Chocolate (Also from you, thank you!)

I want you all to know that our ward here is the best, we had a couple cans of soup and meatballs. Thanks to the ward, we have frozen pizzas, soda, a full pan of lasagna, tortillas, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin bread, cupcakes, tacos, burritos, ice cream, and tons of other stuff. Don't be surprised if I gain ten pounds this transfer. We didn't say anything and our plates are full, besides which, they always feed us, and if we don't have a dinner appointment, there is a lady who will call us up, ask us if we want one (she has our list) and call people in the ward to feed us. It is awesome! We have the best people here. I NEVER want to leave. But transfers are on Dec 2, So I will pray I don't get moved.

The work here is still great. Yesterday in Testimony Meeting, one of our investigators, Jennifer, got up and bore her testimony that she knew the church was true! It was the coolest experience ever!!!!!! She's getting baptized next week. I cries like a baby. Wow, the mission really does turn you into a crier.

So we have a problem. Here in Mass, people have tag sales (yard sales) and when something is too junky to sell, and not junky enough to throw away, they leave it on the side of the road with a free sign. Our problem is we always pick it up!!!! ALWAYS! It doesn't matter what it is. It all started when we moved. Sister Halverson didn't have a dresser, because the mission home was out of dressers, and we saw a "really nice" one on the side of the road. So we picked it up.

Then we saw a rocking chair.
Then a desk.
Then a recliner.
Then another desk.
Then a lamp.
Then a exercise machine.
This morning on our way to the library we found another exercise machine, and we had to pick it up, because it was nicer than the one we had.
Seriously, most of the furniture in our apartment is hand me downs.
(I think we have a problem.)

But anyway, the Lord is blessing us, and if we can find another dresser, we will pick that up too, because one of ours just broke. I think it's pretty sweet.

I love you all! Thank you for your prayers. Missions are awesome! Doing the Lords work is the coolest! I know the church is true, and I am so excited to share that with others!!!

Sarah's email November 1st

Hey All!

Thank you for all the pictures! It looked like Halloween was a lot of fun! I love how creative you all are with your costumes! A Twister!? I Wii remote?! You guys are the best! Emily, I loved your costume with the weeping angel. Did everyone take turns looking at you so that you wouldn't move?

Our new comp, Sister Halverson is a Dr. Who fan so I can make all the references I like and someone will get them.

So about pictures....ummm.....They are coming. I've been having to put them off, and I was going to do them this morning, but it turns out Sister Phillips has tonsillitis, we we are going to have to take her to the doctors later today. Bummer.

So one of the members has put us on their blog! it's under lewisfamilyletters.blogspot.com. She has us in there for Halloween and also for feeding us lobster. YES! I HAVE EATEN LOBSTER! BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! The Lewis's are a really great family. Lobster was great too.

So currently, we have a new investigator named Desmond who asks A LOT of questions. Our appointments sometimes last two and a half hours because he has a lot of good questions. Yesterday, his father in law, Yeves sat in and we taught him too. Yeves is a preacher. We had a lively discussion with him. Not that it was antagonistic at all, but that it was a lot of doctrinal discussion. They asked us to come back, so maybe it was a good thing.

I got my hair cut. Short. It looks weird! I'll show you a picture soon. it's odd to brush it and all the sudden you realize you are brushing your back.

Things are great here in Massachusetts!! It is a beautiful place with great people! Fall is over, but it was soooooo beautiful. I look forward to seeing winter, since Phil says it's like a storybook. I'll take pictures.

There is really not much else to report, it's been kind of a slow week. Things will pick up though.

I love you all! Hope you all have a great week! Thank you for your prayers! they work!
