May I get a list of everyone's birthdates? It will help me keep track.
Thanks!

Missy's Email June 1st
Hey Y'all!
This week has been pretty good. We had to say goodbye to our mission president. That was pretty sad. He did go out with a bang though. For the month a June our mission go 118 baptisms. That was a all time high for any southern mission! He was pretty happy (mostly because he is competitive and he loves beating all the other southern missions). President Brailsford is a way awesome guy. He is probably going to be a apostle someday, I don't doubt it. Our new mission president is coming today and we get to meet him on Friday. That will be exciting!
So, this threesome is really great! We have lots of fun and we work really well together. Transfers are next week and I will probably go back to Marion. I just have to wonder who my next companion will be! There will be further updates next week.
So, I hope everyone has a really good forth of July. Get lots of candy from the parade. Is anyone entering the cookie contest? Dad, have fun with the new grill!
I love ya'll!

GIRL PARTY!!

This past week we had a girl party at Oma and Opa's house. It was so much fun, for both the girls and Oma and Opa! We made cookies, jumped on the trampoline and watched the new Spiderwick movie, then Sleeping Beauty.
Adam especially will have something to remember. That night after Adam went to sleep, the girls, lead by Emily, tiptoed into Adams room and gave him a makeup job complete with a suave new mustache. He was pretty good natured about it. But made us wait Family Morning, cause he had to wash his face. Lots of giggling over that one.
Then we went to Walmart and all got matching shirts and hats, as modeled in the picture above! Can't wait until the next girl party, though this one will be hard to beat!

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your kind offers! As you know, Sarah and I are moving to a new pad in Salt Lake this Saturday. We'd like to start at 1o:00, but just whenever you can make it is great! We'll be moving to 1601 W. Fox Park Drive #6J. That's in West Jordan, just behind the Albertson's on 90th and Redwood. There will be pizza and air conditioning! Woooot! Thanks everyone!

Missy's email for June 23rd
Hey Ya'll!
Well, it has been a very busy week! My companion, Sister Duke, went home. She couldn't take the pain of the migraine and after taking her to the emergency room again at 3:00 in the morning all they could do was prescribe a $500 medication. She didn't want to pay $500. I wouldn't want to either. So, they decided to send her home and now I am in Columbia in another threesome.
I am acually in my very first area, Windsor Lake ward! I was only here for 4 weeks before and now I will only be here for the next 2 weeks. At least I think I will. We are getting a new mission president next week and he is doing the transfer planning so who knows what will happen. It has been a crazy week.
My new companions are Sister Law and Sister Tanner. I have been with Sister Law before. She is the one I had to take to the emergency room a few months ago (Man, I get all the sickies!). She has been in this area ever since and her health is not good. They haven't been able to figure out what was wrong with her and she doesn't look too good. She acts like a trooper though. It has been fun being with her again, even though it has only been for a couple days. Sister Tanner is from Cedar City and she comes from a family with 11 kids too! 7 girls and 4 boys! I thought it was kinda cool. She is very sweet and soft spoken, but still lots of kidding around going on.
I have left Marion in a hurry so I don't even know how my investigators are. I will have to find out in 2 weeks. The people here are pretty good. We have found some good people who are really interested in the gospel. I really hope they go somewhere.
So, that is my crazy life at the current moment.
I love ya'll and hope ya'll have a wonderful week!

Employee Appreciation Day
Hey Everybody,
So, Winegars is having Employee Appreciation Day on June 30th as part of our anniversary sale week. This means that in between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. every little last stinking thing in the store (excluding the pharmacy) is 20 percent off for employee's and their immediate family members. Pretty awesome! I just thought I would invite everyone to come if they would like to and get everything discounted. And because it is the anniversary sale week, there will probably be alot of stuff on sale already. I just thought I would make that known to everyone, in case you wanted to take advantage of this.

Hey y'all!
This week has been pretty crazy. My comp has had a really bad migraine headache for the past 5 days and yesterday she woke up with ringing in her ears and lightheaded. We came home right after church so that she could rest. By the end of the day she was falling down every time she stood up and cried. I decided enough was enough and took her to the emergency room.
They couldn't help much. They just told her to not go outside and stay in a dark room for a week. That didn't go over well because we're missionaries and staying in for a week will make us go stark raving mad. She goes home in three weeks and so she might just have to spend every other hour inside or something like that. I am going to have a lot of study time on my hands!
Other than that things have been pretty good. We found this funny lady who tells all her neighbors that we are her white sisters. She yells it down the street after us. She is a little crazy. I love it when people call me their white sister though.
That is way cool that you got to do the paper route again! Ah, it brings back memories! I remember how heavy those bags were on Sundays and running down the street throwing papers. It was pretty fun.
Well, I hope y'all have a wonderful day! Stay cool!

Missy's email for week of June 9th
Hey Howdy Hey!
First I need to say thanks for the video. A member wanted us to show it to her nonmember husband. We did a FHE with them and showed the video. He liked it pretty well considering he cried during it. He (we call him Bro. Dean) is as redneck as possible. He has a long greasy mullet and bad tattoos all over his body. He is a pretty funny guy though. Missionaries have been trying to baptize him for years. I am hoping we can get though to him. So, thanks so much for the video, it was very much appreciated by his wife as well. She says thank you too.
This week has been HOT!!! It is now getting in the 100s and bringing back memories of last year. I sure I will be able to survive another summer though.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM!!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy your present. I know I am pretty jealous. Those things look like tons of fun!
Well, the library is ultra busy again and I don't have any time. I hope it won't be like this the whole summer. We might have to try at another time of the day and see if it is less busy.
I love y'all!!!

Hi all,
Grandpa Dixon told me this story of when President Uchtdorf and his wife had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's home in Provo years ago.
When on their mission in Germany, Grandpa worked as mission financial secretary and Grandma was mission secretary, so they spent most of their time in the mission home. At the time, President Uchtdorf was the local stake president and he would drop by the mission home quite often to talk to the mission president and always exchanged a few words with Mom and Dad. They thought he was a fine man.
After Grandma and Grandpa (now Oma and Opa) returned home, Grandpa ran into President Uchtdorf in the BYU bookstore. He was in the area on church business, traveling with his wife. Grandpa invited them to dinner and they accepted.
When they came to dinner, Sister Uchtdorf told Grandma, "We knew we had found your home when we saw the curtains. Grandma had beautiful lace curtains--the kind Germans use--in her windows. They had a very pleasant evening.

What some people will do for a good chinese meal!
First--take the tram up to the start of the trail.
If you manage to reach the restaurant, the food is free. Let me know how the food is. I'm not going. |
Missy's June 1st e-mail
Hey Y'all!
Well, June is here and so is the humidity. It is starting to bring back memories of last year. Hot hot hot.
Ok, I'm done complaining. It sounds like everyone had a fun weekend with the picnic and the baby blessing and all that. Sorry I had to miss it, but I had other things to do...you understand. I am really sad to hear about Michelle Quist. She has always been one of my favorite people in the ward. My heart goes out to her and her family. I wish I could help in some way. Let me know if I can.
Sorry, this email is going to be a short one. We have a appointment to get to and I had to wait forever for a computer. Now that school is out over here everyone is at the library trying to get on the internet.
I love y'all!
